These may include feeling drained or tired all the time, loss of motivation, and easily being overwhelmed. It's common for those experiencing burnout to struggle with self-doubt and procrastinate a lot. If you find yourself feeling irritable, unable to get a good night’s sleep, or having frequent headaches, these might also be signs that you are heading towards burnout.

Overcoming burnout requires recognising and acknowledging the problem and taking active steps to reduce stress and improve your well-being. This may involve setting healthy boundaries at work and in your personal life, setting aside time regularly for rest and self-care, setting clear and achievable goals, being willing to say no when you need to, and seeking support from friends, family, or a therapist/mental health professional. It's also important to remember that overcoming burnout takes time and patience.

Burnout is a serious issue that can severely impact your health, happiness and overall quality of life. By understanding the signs and taking proactive steps to manage stress, you can protect yourself from burnout or recover if you're already experiencing it.
